WHO WAS CHARLEMAGNE ?
Carlos I, called "the Great" and better known as Charlemagne was King of the Franks from 768 until his death , nominal king of the Lombards ( 764-814 ) and Emperor of the West ( 800-814 )He was the son of Pepin and Bertrada of Laon , he succeeded his father.He governed with his son Carloman, but after his death he started to govern by his own.
His objective was to reconquest The Western Roman Empire . He fought against the Muslims who threatened their possessions in the Iberian Peninsula and try to take over the territory , of but had to retreat and because UN attack the Basques lost a their entire rear, and a Roldán , in the gorge Roncesvalles .He fought against the Slaves. After a long campaign managed to subdue the Saxons , forcing them to convert to Christianity and integrating them into his kingdom ; thus paved the way for the establishment of the Holy Roman Empire under the Saxon dynasty . He expanded the Frankish kingdoms than to transform them into an empire that incorporated much of Western and Central Europe. He conquered Italy.
WHY WAS HE PROCLAIMED EMPEROR BY THE POPE?
Carlomagno was proclaimed emperor because after the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the consequent dispersion that followed, the Church always cherished the project to recreate the unity of the European continent by a kind of new Roman Empire , in which the Emperor was the temporal authority and the Pope spiritual . That's what I tried the papacy in 800 crowning Charlemagne as emperor.
SUMMARAY
Today 28 January 814, one of the best kigs for France has die. He has been one of the most intelligent, and powerful King that the Frankish Kingdom has had.
He has die but we continue remembering the glorious day in wich Cralomagno was named King in the year 768, after his father deat Pepin the Short.
He has been always a big dreamer who wanted to reconquest the Occidental Roman Empire . But this time not under roman´s hand, this time is was going to
be under his power.
He always fought to get this empire and after of years and years of fight, pain and effort he conquered the Lombard´s; he attacked the muslims in the norther part of Iberian Peninsula; he defeated the Sajons and finally he conquered the norther tip of the Iberian Peninsula.

+ Well, this has been a heavy stroke.I have felt sad but I'm starting to recuperate my self.

- I'd like to know something about his dream of recompose the Western Roman Empire. Why did he want to do that?
+ I don't know much about that. The only thing I know is that he loved Roman stories and when I was little he told my many stories before I fell asleep. One day he told me that he wanted to rebuilt the Western Roman Empire and all the soldiers were sent for conquer old Roman cities. I only saw him 5 times per month and when I could see him, he had to go for a new war in a short period of time. One day he returned home. He was very old. The doctor said that he won't survive more. Finally, he died in Aix-la-Chapelle, 814.
Before he died I promised him that I will continue his idea and i will expand his new Empire.
